Random Udpates
Spring break...errr March break...was nice. We got some much needed time of relaxation. Drank a lot of coffee at our favorite little spot...Red Whale. Got a bit of work done. We were able to make a day trip in to Maine. It's always nice to get back to the States...even if it is only for a few hours. We also made a 2 day trip to Sydney, Nova Scotia. That was quite the drive for the little amount of time we were able to spend there. We were checking out a possible internship opportunity with a church plant there. We've been praying a lot and are really excited about the possibilities of this opportunity.
I just recently finished A Generous Orthodoxy by Brian McLaren. I was working on it between the insane amount of homework I've been having to do. McLaren has become one of my favorite authors. He has a knack for making me think about old things in new ways. I appreciate the humor in his writing. I also read the Shack this semester. I devoured that one in one weekend. Good book. Also got me thiniking quite a bit. I appreciate books that don't give all the answers, but get me thinking about important issues. They challenge me.
I have been hooked on a Justin Timberlake song recently. Now, while I like his music, I do not usually find great depth in it's lyrical content. However, this song has impacted me. Between this song and just finishing up a monster of a research paper on homeless youth, my heart just breaks for people. Here's the song:
Tried to add some pictures but Blogger's not havin it tonight...sorry. I think that's it for now. The semester is coming to an end so hopefully I'll be able to keep this updated a little more faithfully. Have a great day everyone. much love

Responsive Reading
Lord God,
Because Jesus has taught us to
trust You in all things,
We hold to His Word and
share His plea:
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done.
Where nations budget for war,
While Christ says,
“Put up your sword”:
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done.
Where countries waste food
and covet fashion,
While Christ says, “I was hungry…
I was thirsty…”:
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done.
Where powerful governments claim their policies are heaven blessed,
While Scripture states that God helps the powerless:
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done.
Where Christians seek the kingdom in the shape of their own church,
As if Christ had come to build
And not to break barriers:
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done.
Where women who
speak up for their dignity
are treated with scorn or contempt:
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done.
Where men try hard to be tough,
Because they are afraid to be tender:
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done.
Where we,
obsessed with being adults,
Forget to become like children:
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done.
Where our prayers falter,
our faith weakens,
our light grows dim:
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done.
Where Jesus Christ calls us:
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done.
Lord God,
You have declared that
your kingdom is among us.
Open our ears to hear it,
Our hands to serve it,
Our hearts to hold it.
This we pray in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Your Kingdom Come
"Your kingdom come. Run into my world. Crash into my dreams. Show me what it means not to chase these things. Or to place them before you. But to love and adore you." -Kingdom Come by Paul Wright

And We're Back
We start our last semester of classes tomorrow. That is such an exciting thought. I can't believe we will be done with classes in less than four months. It's also a bit nerve wracking as we have yet to finalize our internship placememnt. We've talked with a few people, but everything is up in the air. Any suggestions? haha. Something will work out. That's it for now. Have a great day! much love
