I Will Bless Your Name Forever

All this news of people getting so angry over the cartoons of Muhammed has made me so thankful for the God I serve. The God I serve is loving and forgiving. Why would anyone choose to serve a god who is so full of vengence? Don't get me wrong, God does punish the wicked. The Old Testamnt depicts this very clearly. But He would never ask His servants to burn down embassies and execute cartoonists. People all around the world continually have their faiths bashed and made fun of, without this sort of retaliation. What kind of god can't take care of himself? Well, I don't want to get into what I think about the Muslim faith, but my heart aches lately for them to know the true God. The Almighty God who can take care of Himself. This whole incident has made me so thankful for the God I serve.

God is all about forgiveness and love and mercy. He came to earth with His only purpose to die on a cross for us. He died that we may be forgiven. The God I serve accepts all who call on His name. He desires that none should perish, but that all should live on in Paradise with Him. He desires all to know Him in an intimate relationship. He's not just some distant god who watches us like we're his little ant farm. He loves us and wants to have a relationship with each one of us, no matter what our background. I'm thankful I serve a God who loves me even when I screw up. I'm thankful I serve a God who accepts me back into His loving embrace when I stray from Him. How could anyone not want a relationship with their Creator who is so passionate about His creation?

God has been revealing Himself to me in new ways lately. He is amazing. I thank Him for His goodness and His greatness. As the song on my page says, "I will bless His name forever." much love becky
