Incomplete

No, this is not some deep post about being incomplete. I am so freakin' sick of this song. Incomplete by Backstreet boys can die. That may sound a little harsh, but hear me out. Our neighbors (those lovely ones above us which I wrote about in a post a few months ago) play this song over and over whenever their kids are sleeping. Their kids' bedroom happens to be right above ours. So, a few times throughout the day when they take naps and all night long, we hear Incomplete over and over. Some nights we can barely hear it while other nights it sounds like it's blasting in our apartment. And other times we can even hear James singing along with it. That one actually isn't too bad...it makes us laugh. We probably hear this song over 100 time in a 24 hr period. It is rediculous. I want to break in and break the CD. Hearing music coming from there wouldn't be too bad if it wasn't that same freakin' song ALL the time. Ok, I'm done venting for now. I'm just very annoyed. This song will do that to a patient person and I don't consider myself to be a very patient person. Have a great day. much love becky

Hockey Game

We went to our first hockey game of the semester tonight. The Blazers (that's us) won 7-2. It was a fun game to watch. We're actually starting to get into hockey. I guess that's what living in Canada will do to a person. And of course, we had a great time with Dan and Morgan as usual. We all went and got some Tim Horton's before the game. While there three of us (Dan already knew this) learned that Tim Horton played hockey for 22 years. It all makes sense now. Anywho, here are some pictures from the game and some are us around the apartment.

Back in our apartment trying to warm up. That arena is one cold place to be.

Dan and Morgan outside after the game.

I enjoy using this effect. I'm not quite sure why, but I do.

Outside after the game.

Freezing at the hockey game.

Some hockey action for ya'll.

Lynyrd Skynyrd and Praising the Lord

Last night I went to St. John to get Shane from the airport and on my way there I was listening to the greatest American band ever Lynyrd Skynyrd. I love those guys. I don't know what it is about those guys, but their music is almost perfect. Okay so I suppose that I inadvertantly just made a case for truth being relative. But none the less they have a dang good sound. Seriously, who can argue with three guitars? So as I was driving I was also thinking ( wow thats like three things at once, aren't you proud mom) why can't they make worship music sound like this. The only Christian band that I have heard that is close is Third Day, they are good. So I will ask the question again "Why don't we have worship music like that"?
I have been thinking alot about that the last 24 hours or so and I came to a conclusion, I think. The conclusion: It doesn't matter. I think I heard twice today the concepts of truth and experience being contrasted. I want to worship God in truth. If I demand that the music be of a southern rock sound compariable to that of Skynyrd then I am focusing on the experience. Experiences are good but I can't let my feelings about them be my measure for my relationship with Christ.
Well I did it. I listened to a band my mom doesn't really approve of and I grew closer to Christ.
talk to you all later,
jeff
